Blink and you'll miss it aurora

Submitted by astroyyz@gmail.com on 13 September 2014

For a few minutes around 8pm on September 12, Lynn Hillborn was able to image this aurora from Grafton, Ontario.

Says Lynn  "Just as I arrived I saw this wonderful shaft of light and quickly started shooting...... it was all over in minutes.

The colours were really deeply saturated and were truly red, purple, orange and blue."

Click on the image to enlarge.  Can you see the Andromeda galaxy as a little smudge on the centre right edge of the frame?
