The RASC, Toronto Centre offers a Gold Medal which is awarded annually to the student graduating with a B.Sc. in Astronomy or Astrophysics with the highest first class honours from each of the University of Toronto and York University. The medal, which features the classic Seal of the RASC, is made of sterling silver plated with 14 ct gold and presented to the recipient at a meeting of the Society. The Toronto Centre has provided the Gold Medal at the University of Toronto since 1986. Prior to this date the Gold Medal was sponsored by the National Society for over 60 years. The first recipient at York University was named in 2007.

The winner of the Gold Medal is selected by the respective astronomy departments at these universities. Here is a list of the winners of the Gold Medal since 1986 when it was first awarded by the Toronto Centre:
