UofT: Science Rendezvous 2018

Science Rendezvous is a free annual all-day festival that brings science out of the lab and onto the street with the ultimate goal of improving student enrolment as well as public involvement in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M.) fields. Occurring simultaneously at over 40 sites across 30 Canadian cities, this event offers visitors of all ages and backgrounds the chance to interact with world-class researchers, witness awe-inspiring demonstrations, partake in hands-on experiments and, above all, have fun while discovering science in a whole new way!

The festival takes place every year on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. This year, it will take place on Saturday, May 12th. The location of the festival is listed as 100 St. George Street but it will take place all along St. George Street from College Street to Harbord Street.

You don’t need tickets and the festival is completely free to attend! Drop by for an hour, come for the whole day, it is up to you!

S.T.E.M. Pavilions will line St. George Street with over 100 awe-inspiring demonstrations and hands-on experiments that showcase science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This year come and see robots, solar cars, and 3D worlds, build bridges and arches, solve math tricks, identify earth’s minerals, observe tabletop river bedforms, make slime, extract DNA, meet with zebrafish, leeches, and hissing cockroaches, and much, much more!
