Video: Light Pollution Update 2017

Submitted by rasc@johnginder.com on 4 August 2017

Peter Hiscocks, Chair of the Toronto Centre's Light Pollution Committee, presented an update on the projects we are working on to reduce Light Pollution in Ontario. He provided a number of examples of problems and successful solutions in lighting design and explained how simple it is to correct. His presentation was held at RASC's Recreational Astronomy Night at the Ontario Science Centre. The Light Pollution Committee produced an excellent 89 page booklet, "Best Practices for Effective Lighting," which is a helpful guide to architects, engineers, city planners, and anyone else who would be interested in seeing the Milky Way at night in a city by reducing light pollution.
