Trevor Jones, from astrobackyard.com and astrobackyard YouTube channel, takes us through the different methods he uses to capture deep sky objects (DSOs). From a one shot colour camera to a monochromatic camera with different filters, he outlines the processing needed to pull out the detail in the image. He shows that capturing DSOs from a light polluted backyard within the parameters of a major city is possible. He gave his presentation to the online version of the Recreational Astronomy Night which was held on July 7, 2021.
