Do More at the CAO!

Members are able to enhance their use of the Carr Observatory through two programs available exclusively to Toronto Centre members. For more information or to be added to our wait list for these services, please email cao@rascto.ca.

Serviced Observatory Lots ("MODLs")

The Toronto Centre offers six "My Own Dome Lot" or "MODL" sites upon which members can install their own observatory and equipment at the CAO. Each site is serviced with AC power, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity. MODLs are also connected the property's alarm system, however, lessees are responsible for their own insurance in case of loss or damage to their property.

Each MODL site is approximately 10' x 10'. Sites come up for renewal from time to time and members in good standing are able to lease the site on an annual basis for terms running from October 1st to September 30th each year.

As of April 12, 2024, there is one MODL site available. If desired, the POD on this site is also available to purchase as well.

On-site Equipment Storage

The Toronto Centre also offers five storage lockers for storage of observing equipment at the CAO.  Each locker is located on-site in the garage and is individually keyed. Members can store telescopes, observing chairs, stepladders and other equipment that is difficult to transport. Storage lockers are available to members in good standing on an annual basis for terms running from October 1st to September 30th each year and are $240.00 each or only $20.00 per month!

As of April 12, 2024, there are no lockers available.
