Astronomer Margaret Ikape takes us on a journey through the universe starting with known and familiar things on the Earth and then building up the scale to things in the solar system, the galaxy, the group of galaxies and then the observable universe.

The events and phenomena will be explained using simple language, with recommendations about how best to observe and photograph them.

Our monthly City Star Party is the place to catch universe from within the city limits at Bayview Village Park. If you don't have a telescope then you will find many astronomers who would love to share a view. If you are thinking of buying a telescope, viewing with other people's equipment is the best way to make a good choice. If you have a telescope or binoculars, please bring it!

Join the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for this four-night course, where you will be introduced to observing the night sky. After the course, you will be able to identify the brighter stars and constellations and have a basic understanding of the motion of the night sky.
